First Divide crossing today. That came with it the most intense uphill riding, walking and pushing. There was an alternate advertised as slightly easier and longer… we opted for the main route and had a long climb that included 1.5 miles of very steep.
The uphills are very challening but somehow still completely enjoyable. Getting near and to the top of the divide (now having done it three times) brings views that are really spectacular.
Camped at a primitive site on Deadman Creek along with Paul and Russ (also divide riders heading south). Experienced a storm, which was high wind, clouds and just a few rain drops.
Planning and early departure (7am) for two crossings on next day.
