The paved route our of Pie Town was a treat. Lots of downhill to Datil plus this is where we saw the bear. After second breakfast (or maybe it was lunch) we did some edge riding along the Plains of Agustine. Wow, was that ever interesting in a certain barren kind of way. Called the pastor of the Horse Springs Bible Church and happily received permission to camp at their place for the night. Good thing, as next up was another CD crossing, then over to Reserve. We pitched our tent on the porch so we could watch the sky. In the morning we watched a racer zip by on the main route.
